The Perfect Morning Routine

How Your Inner Circle Shapes You (and Why Mornings Matter!)

You’ve probably heard the saying, “You become like the five people you spend the most time with.” (If you’re a parent, you’ve likely said this to your teenager at least once!)

Hal Elrod, in his best-selling book The Miracle Morning, takes this idea even further:
“If you are surrounded by lazy, excuse-making people, you’ll inevitably become like them. But if you spend time with positive, successful achievers, their habits and mindset will reflect on you.”

Think about it—who are the people in your life that push you, support you, and remind you that you’re capable of more? The ones who challenge you, celebrate your wins, and hold you accountable? Those are the people who will help shape your success.

But here’s the real game-changer: your mornings set the tone for everything.

The Miracle Morning: How to Win Your Day

Elrod’s book is all about intentional morning habits that lead to success. He created a simple framework called SAVERS, a set of six steps to jumpstart your day with energy, focus, and motivation:

  • Silence – Start your morning with deep breathing, meditation, or quiet reflection.
  • Affirmations – Speak positive truths: “I am strong. I am capable. I am in control of my choices.”
  • Visualization – Picture yourself reaching your goals. (Trust me, this works—I once did a visualization exercise that stuck with me for 20 years!)
  • Exercise – Move your body! Even just 10 minutes of stretching, yoga, or a quick workout will give you energy and set the tone for your day.
  • Reading – Feed your mind. Just 10 minutes of an inspiring book can shift your perspective and motivate you.
  • Scribing (Journaling) – Write down your goals, gratitude, or reflections. It clears your mind and helps you stay focused.

Why This Matters for YOU

“You can’t change your life until you change something you do daily.”The Miracle Morning

We all want to be healthier, stronger, and happier—but success isn’t random. It’s in your routine. The small choices you make every morning shape the person you’re becoming.

Here’s where to start:

  1. Wake up just 15 minutes earlier than usual.
  2. Set your workout clothes out the night before to remove barriers to exercise.
  3. Choose just one SAVERS habit and commit to making it part of your morning.

Your Challenge

Try the Miracle Morning for one week and see how it impacts your mindset, energy, and overall success.

What’s one morning habit you’re committing to this week? Give this some thought!

P.S. You’re worth this work. You know that, right?
